EICAR Virus Definitions

How to verify an anti-virus package is active.

Download the three following test strings to confirm your virus scanning software is perfoming correctly. These are not real viruses and they will not infect your machine. Windows users take note, these are real, harmless, COM executables.

If the anti-virus package is actively running, a message will result detailing the file is infected with the EICAR Virus or some other quarantine of denial message.

NOTE: Please be competent with the use of your virus scanning software before downloading, Blackcat Software will not remove nor help remove the EICAR strings from your system.
