2007 Ford E-450 Super Duty Turn Signal Flasher Location

Important: This is NOT for an E-150, E-250, E-350, or E-550. Nor is this for a Mustang, Pinto, or your dad’s Explorer.  It is probably NOT for a 2015, 2010, or 2024.  This is ONLY for the van in the title, if you’re lucky.

Since you’ve made it this far, you’re looking for the turn signal flasher on your 2007 Ford E-450 Super Duty UHaul.   Ford placed the flasher in one of three areas.

  1. On TOP of the fuse box.  It is a rectangular red plastic box clipped to the top right.  Don’t be a pussy, it’s your truck; get your dick beater up there to feel around.  Slide it forward, and the relay will pull out.  If it’s red, it’s probably a Grote 44530.  If it’s not red, it was replaced.
  2. On the left side of the brake shaft firewall mount. Slide the black box to the left to remove it from the mount.  If it’s a two-wire, give it the 44530.
  3. Sit in the driver’s seat.  Right knee.  There can be a set of relays underneath the plastic where the knee bolster, dash, and engine cover meet.   One black cube is the flasher.  Oh, wait, they are all black cubes.

There is a set of quad relays underneath the hood.  These relays are for the trailer.  They respond to the turn signal flasher.

If your turn signals or hazards are not flashing at all, the fuse and switch are good; the Grote probably shit out because the no-name, bargain barrel, 6.3V capacitor failed.  If it did, source a 2200uf 25V electrolytic cap for $2; otherwise, special order one.  And no, I don’t know if the one you found online will work.
