Missing Start Menu and Taskbar Icons Windows 7

Rebuild the icon cache (IconCache.db).

1. Open Folder Options. Click the View tab. Select the radio button: Show hidden files, folders, and drives. Click Apply.
2. Open windows explorer and navigate to %LocalAppData%
3. Delete IconCache.db
4. Open the Task Manager. Click the Process tab.  Right-click on the Explorer.exe process and select End Process.
5. Click File->New Task (Run). Type: explorer.exe      Click OK.
